16th century Gothic oak chest

Description:  A Gothic oak chest with a paneled top that opens to a green metal-lined interior with a tray. It contains an early wrought iron escutcheon with heart detailing.

Circa 1520-1540, Flanders, Holland.

Provenance: Unknown.

Dimensions: 20-3/8”H x 22-3/4”L x 17-3/4”W.

Condition:  Overall, good with age-appropriate wear.  The hinges are original.  The original key is absent.

Repairs/Replacements:  The interior metal tray has been painted green in the past.
