Elizabeth I carved oak chest

Description:  An Elizabeth I carved oak chest with a fluted frieze.  The three arcaded panels are decorated with guilloche mouldings.  The top is comprised of two plainly designed boards.  The sides are simply paneled.  The chest sits on stile feet with nearby carved spandrels.  Within the chest facade, there is inlaid holly and old oak.

Circa 1600, England.

Provenance:  Unknown.

Dimensions:  26-5/8″H x 55-3/4″L x 22″W.

Condition:  Overall, good with age-appropriate wear.  Escutcheon plate is original.

Repairs/Replacements:  A single interior bottom board has been previously replaced.
